Next Steps Draw, Shoot, Clear Part I and Part II
This two-part course is designed for newer shooters who have completed a basic handgun safety class and are ready to build real-world skills. Whether you're looking to improve your confidence with handling or want to prepare for advanced range work, this course picks up right where the Basic Handgun Safety Course or the MTFI Montana Concealed Carry Course leaves off.

Part 1: Dry Fire Fundamentals (No Live Fire)
This session focuses on safe, controlled practice using dry fire techniques—no ammunition or live shooting involved.
You’ll learn:
-
How to safely draw your handgun from a holster
-
Proper grip and sight alignment techniques
-
How to identify and safely clear common handgun malfunctions
-
Confidence-building repetition in a controlled environment
This part is ideal for developing muscle memory and safe habits before stepping onto the live-fire range.

Part 2: Live-Fire Range Training
This session is conducted on the shooting range and is designed to reinforce and apply the skills from Part 1 through live-fire drills.
You’ll practice:
-
Safe and efficient malfunction clearing under live-fire conditions
-
Purpose-driven drills to improve accuracy and consistency
-
Real-time coaching to refine technique and performance
Prerequisite: You must have completed either MTFI G&G 1.0 or the Basic Handgun Safety Course to attend Part 2.
